I grew up between cultures, always somewhat outside any single one. That taught me early that meaning isn't natural, it's made. The same gesture, space or image can carry entirely different weight depending on the codes someone's been handed.
Anthropology, semiotics, philosophy and visual language are the lens I keep returning to, different angles on the same inquiry:
How meaning gets made, carried and hidden beneath the surface of things and what becomes possible once you learn to tap into it.
Studio Black Iris is where I bring that same attention to brands and organisations and my belief that what sits beneath the surface is where the most important work happens.
